Rapping is a form of artistic expression that is an extension of the individual creating it.
Cole Mize recently entered into Z180 Radio’s “Spit Your Hottest 16” contest. Cole used this opportunity as a way to introduce himself and share is opposition to some of the pressures that many face in the music industry. Cole states “I pretty much feel like an odd ball. I’m a simple white guy from the country that raps. Rappers are known for being “flashy” being raised in the “hood” and living in urban areas. None of those are really me so I feel no need to try and project an image that is not true to myself. I don’t feel like there is a uniform way to be a rapper. Rapping is a form of artistic expression that is an extension of the individual creating it. My aim is to remain true to myself while conveying a heartfelt message that resonates with the listener. I also wanted to let others know that I do not find any identity with accumulating a lot of material possessions in hopes to feel important and significant. My true identity is found in Christ and through a relation with him I am complete. In summary what I hoped to articulate in this verse was who I am, what I stand for, and what completes me. ”
