Under Pressure Regardless if you are a recording artist or not in general we as people struggle with authentically being ourselves. Why is that? Could it be peer pressure, parental pressure, political or religious pressure to be something that you are truly not? Or how about a fear of rejection that may consequently leave you feeling irrelevant? Maybe you feel like you won't be accepted unless you replicate what already seems to work for others? Who Are You? Perhaps you have never taken the time to consider who you truly are. What makes you tick? What brings you joy? What gives you … [Read more...] about Dare To Be Yourself
How This Cheap $10 Dollar Mic Catapulted Me To New HeightsYou've got to start somewhere I recently was going through some of my old data cd's that I had burned to keep backups of from back in the day. I came across this one particular cd that had some of my very first recordings on it! Talk about going back in time! As I began listening to them isolated in my studio with no one else around I was overcome with embarrassment due to how terrible they sounded. The recordings were distorted because I recorded to loud, The volume of the vocals was inconsistent due to me moving around while … [Read more...] about How This Cheap $10 Dollar Mic Catapulted Me To New Heights
It's not about how you start We all at some point in time have wanted to give up on something. In the beginning we are full of optimism and hope for the abundance of opportunities that surely awaits us. Assured of our success and overtaken by adrenaline we charge forward with guns blazing anxious to cease what is ours! As we begin to run our course we quickly realize the sobering reality that engulfs us; we are not alone in our pursuit, in fact others are so far ahead of us that they must have began their course well before its inception was initially conceived within our minds. Now … [Read more...] about How Close Are You?

And then suddenly we switch from them to ourselves and begin to quickly get frustrated as … [Read more...] about Hip Hop Rappers Singers Dealing With Frustration
Examples of Investments When you think of the word investment the first thing that comes to most of our minds is taking money and putting it in CD's or buying a franchise or flipping a house. Or in the music world Rappers may consider it to be paying for studio time & services to lay down our rap vocals, buying our favorite hip-hop instrumentals, getting album cover art made in hopes of creating a product to make a profit off of. While those all can definitely be really good investments that can lead to substantial amounts of return I propose that money is not the only investment that … [Read more...] about Rappers Greatest Investment
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KV2mXiVbXs I can't afford it I have had the absolute pleasure of working with a lot of talented rappers in the studio & consequently I have been able to develop a lot of great relationships with them as well. I would find myself getting more & more excited as the project progressed and would instinctively ask at some point of time what their plans for marketing their album were. Most of the time they had not put much thought into their call to action for getting their music out there and had primarily been focusing on recording music. Once I … [Read more...] about Rappers Dealing With The I Can’t Afford Mindset
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVVj4w7CJoY I just finished this very inspiring documentary for my good friend Richard Edens who lost his leg in a train accident at the age of 7. He was pronounced clinically dead due to loss of blood but was able to be revived by a blood transfusion. I actually got to know Richard throughout the making of this film and he has been a dear friend of mine for the past 10 years. What he does in this video is truly incredible. He plays basketball, climbs stone mountain, runs track, jumps fences, & swims just to name a few. I hope through watching this short … [Read more...] about MUST SEE!!
